GoDaddy, 1and1 and iPower Web Hosting Package Comparison PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 19 February 2007
GoDaddy.com Hosting & Servers1&1 is trusted by over 5 million customers!

A while ago, Matt was asking me which hosting package was an ideal one. He suggested that I blog about this. So here’s to Matt! – http://matt608.blogspot.com

Well personally I’m using GoDaddy and WebsitePalace as my web host– Yes I got 2. It initially started off with WebsitePalace and at that time it was cheap and a not to be missed bargain! But later I found out that GoDaddy was having a promotion where you can save if you subscribe to their web hosting for a year or two – I got two years ‘Deluxe Plan’ web host for $119.00++. I got 30 percent discount off the total price! The trick is you’ll get 10 percent discount initially when you subscribe to a year’s subscription. And when GoDaddy prompt you to purchase 2 years subscription the second time, simply ignore it. When you reach your shopping cart there’s another option and this is where GoDaddy will offer you 30 percent discount if you subscribe for 2 years web hosting! Final cost = $119.00 + domain.

Adding a domain name is only $1.99 a year and there’s no limit to this. If I were to recommend you to take up a hosting package here are 3 options and I’ll recommend you to GoDaddy or 1and1 – the third web hosting company is for comparison.

Both GoDaddy and 1and1 are pretty competitive. A month’s web hosting in GoDaddy will cost you $3.99 where you will need to subscribe for at least 2 months (total = $10.22) while 1and1 only cost $2.99 but you will need to subscribe for 6 months and this is available for US and Canada only! (total = $18.19)

Here’s a simple comparison chart for economy hosting:

For me, I would personally recommend GoDaddy as their package is quite good. Though I’ve seen 1 complain stating that their customer support is almost close to none-existence, but I’ve been using it for close to a month and I’ve not experience any problems.

For those who are living in US or Canada, you might want to give 1and1 a try, but their free software stated in their comparison chart is too little. You might want to reconsider this.

Good luck in choosing your web hosting package and GoDaddy totally ROCK!

Hiye Matt! Good to have you here.. the $3.99 is a Economy plan.. the $6.99 is the Deluxe plan so if you take 2 years deluxe plan it\'s only roughly $5 a month. For basic needs economy plan is more than enough.. I\'m using the economy plan at websitepalace but deluxe plan at godaddy cause maybe later I might shift everything to godaddy, i got 2 domain currently, maybe it would be cheaper.. hope this helps and thanks for the z-list.. maybe I should publish it here smilies/cheesy.gif thanks again
