While I was building up my incoming links, I met Matt Jones over his site at http://matt608.blogspot.com. He was curious on how this site was built. I was inspired to write about this in my blog so probably it will provide some guidelines to people that might need it. Rule of thumb when you are building a website 1. Make sure you subscribe to a web host. It’s much better, indexing is faster, search engines love domain names with .com, more software, better flexibility, larger bandwidth, more professional, more likely to get a Google Page Rank. Choose a blogging platform that you are comfortable with. Don’t forget future enhancements, if not you will most likely shift to a different platform later – this is a waste of time and should not occur. Try WordPress or Joomla both are great. For Joomla, there will be challenges during implementation as there will be lots of things to learn. Read my articles on WordPress and Joomla. 2. Here are some web hosting services that you should definitely give it a try: GoDaddy - $3.99/m, cheaper if you pay a year + $1.99 domain/year 1and1.com - $1.50/m, min subscription 6 months + FREE domain 4. Build your links concurrently when you are building your content. Find blogs that has a page rank of 4 or better. Check using the PageRank Checker here http://www.prchecker.info/check_page_rank.php. Find quality links to your site and get as many in. I foresee that in a month or so, you can get a PR4 or 5 and already indexed in Google. 5. Always promote your blog wherever you can, blogs, forums, communities, any place that you can imagine. Just place a message anywhere and everywhere. This is an ongoing process. If you have extra cash or cash to burn, try Adwords, or blog advertising or any PPC network. Traffic is the key to success but make sure you have something that keeps your visitors coming back. Once again, if you have the cash, throw in some freebies or something people can participate and win. 6. When you get to month 2, it’s time to get quality links linking to your site. Try getting more PR5 to your website. I read somewhere that if you manage to get 10 PR5 linking to your site, you will be promoted to PR6. When you do get PR6, remember to drop me a link. I would really like that.. ahaha.. There are people selling PR6 links at around $30 to $50 for a month. A PR6 link will get a new site indexed in less than 24 hours while a PR5 in a month or maybe lesser. And as usual, if you are really looking in getting blogging jobs like Blogvertise, PayPerPost, Blogitive, Text Link Ads etc, make sure you have a high page rank! It’s worth some money! Darren Rowse the problogger has a PR7 site over at Text Link Ads. Use the Google PR Checker to check it, I'm pretty sure of it.Good luck and TRY IT! Comments (2)
