Just a few weeks back, Google updated their Page Rank table for the third quarter of October 2007 and it was nerve wrecking! Top sites saw a decrease in their Page Ranks and they weren’t happy with it. 2 weeks later, Google commence another re-update and this time it’s one of the worst PR update in history. Just today, I noticed some of my new sites received some Page Rank from Google – PR1 exactly. I can’t expect much because it’s a really new site without much update as well as backlinks. On the other hand, established sites have their PR re-adjusted. Here’s a list of new sites which received their respective re-adjusted PRs:-
1. RSSFeedMe.net – PR0-PR1 2. CashQuests.com – PR0-PR5 3. BloggingFingers.com – PR0-PR3 4. CopyBlogger.com – PR4-PR7 (or was it from PR5?) 5. DoshDosh.com – PR4-6 6. Problogger.net – PR4-6
Blogs that got demoted –
1. LiewCF.com – PR6-5 2. HongKiat.com – PR3-2 3. JohnTP.com – PR4-3 4. DotMySpot.com – PR4-3 (DotMySpot.com/home is still PR4, thank god!)
I think that it’s safe to say Google has finally finished with their third update for this year. It wasn’t easy to stomach the decrease in PR on some of my site because that also means a huge pay cut from my paid posts. Advertisers use PR as a benchmark and it’s really important if you want to get paid well from these advertisers.
I wonder what will happen in the next PR update – would it be just as nerve wrecking?
