Key Points That Would Generally Get Your Blog Demoted for Oct 2007 PR Update |

 I read on someone else blog that it seems this PR update was done partially with human evaluation. I can imagine the whole Google team would sit down together on their PC evaluating millions or possibly billions of websites to decide on whether it deserves the PR that their system has previously automatically assigned. Somehow I find that ridiculous.
On the other hand, if Google does manually evaluate certain sites, what are the indications they will use? I have several sites which got demoted and I find my sites have a whole lot of similarities with other sites that has the same fate as mine.
Generally, I believe you will get demoted if
1. You put a disclosure text below your article which states – ‘SPONxxSORED’ or ‘THIS POxxST IS PAxxID’ or ‘BROUxxGHT to YOU BxY’ (I put the xxx’s because I don’t want to get demoted :p – subject to my speculation only)
2. You participate heavily on PayPerPost and you place a site wide disclosure badge which is visible everywhere
3. You stop using Google Adsense and start selling your own ads
4. You sell links everywhere on your site and you have a system that can create hundred of thousands of links
5. You place lots of links which doesn’t really have anything to do with your site like exchanging links with a site on gardening or some sort (which I find no wrong in doing so?)
What happened – happened. We can’t really have a say because we have no control on our hands. Just that I think there would be another re-update pretty soon because lots of new sites have yet been assigned with a Page Rank – it’s just a speculation. Cheers and have a great day!
