It’s official – Google has updated the Page Rank for October 2007. This is one of the longest updates as I remembered the last update was done in the month of May. Well I have mixed reactions on the update but it’s nothing serious. It’s just that one of my pages was demoted from PR4 to PR3 which when it comes to monetizing it – doesn’t really make a huge difference.
On the other hand, I noticed that there are several sites which I visit daily were demoted as well. These sites are:
1. JohnChow.com – PR6-PR5 2. HongKiat.com/blog – PR5-PR4 3. Mac.andPC.com – PR4-PR3 4. BloggingSecret.blogspot.com – PR5-PR4 5. Problogger.net – PR7-PR6 (correct me if I’m wrong here)
I also read news that Google might be abandoning their Page Rank concept solely because people are monetizing and manipulating their ranking system. Contrary to their believes, I think that their Page Rank concept is brilliant! They managed to build a whole new industry solely on their ranking system and when there is money involved – it’s something good.
Anyway,
When it comes to monetizing your site, there isn't much difference when it comes to PR0-4. But if it’s a PR5 and above, you can actually make serious money out of it. For example,
1. PR0-2 – nobody actually wants to pay for these (unless it's a high traffic site), but you can still make $5-$10 for sponsored posts 2. PR3-4 – advertisers are willing to pay $5-$100 per sponsored post 3. PR5 – you can get good money out of it - $25-$200 per sponsored post 4. PR6 – $100-$400 per sponsored post 5. PR7 and above – you can make thousands!
