Exchanging links made easy! - Excuse me?! Would you like to Exchange Link Pls?!? PDF Print E-mail

Link MetroLinks are important! It is one of the important ingredients when Google assign a page rank to your site. If you do a check on a site with PR6 or 7, you might notice that they have around 10,000 to 20,000 links to their site! Also if you check Apple.com – they have around 1,300,000 links to their site. Yeah! That's 1.3 million links!

Exchanging links manually with site owners might be cumbersome. Imagine this:

1. Message: Excuse me! Would you like to exchange links?
2. Wait a day for reply – Yes
3. Wait another day or two for the webmaster to update the link list

The process is too slow and takes too much time. There are many methods to fish for links. Problogger uses a quick link method where he dedicates a blog post to link to other blogs while John Chow ‘rewards’ visitors who write a review on his website by putting a link on a blog post.

Of course, you can also use Link Metro (no this is not an advertisement). I’ve been using this site for quite sometime now and have received quite a number of link exchange requests.

Advantages:
1. You can request link exchange almost instantly
2. A huge range of participating websites
3. Some site has good page rank!

Disadvantages:
1. Too many websites with unrelated categories – you don’t want your site to be listed on a site selling furnace or casino services right?
2. Your link won’t be listed on the front page but in a sub directory somewhere in the website which tends to be difficult to locate

What’s your opinion on Link Metro?
