5 years ago, touchscreen devices are deemed to be luxury goods, as these devices are being sold at a premium price, which gets you a rather basic and unresponsive touchscreen feature. However, there has been tremendous advancements on touchscreen technology, in which current touchscreens are far superior, and it also boasts better accuracy too.
Surely, touchscreen demands have multiplied several folds recently, and research suggests that touchscreen demand will grow by at least 90% in the next couple of years. The figure suggests that touchscreen panels will enjoy $13.4 billion in sales this year, and the figure will escalate to $24 billion by 2017. Apparently, touchscreen mobile phones and tablets will be the main contributor to the overall sales. 72 million panels are expected to ship this year, while another 100 million is projected for 2012 – perhaps we should invest some money on the touchscreen panel industry?
