The Android operating system is getting juicer every year, and the latest news unleased by Google indicates that the upcoming Ice Cream Sandwich variant, or namely Android 4.0, will provide support for USB game controllers and HDMI too. Generally, the news was confirmed by Google framework engineer Romain Guy's Twitter account recently.

In short, with the Android 4.0 onboard your smartphone or tablet PC, you’ll get to plug in an external gamepad to the USB-to-microUSB adapter, which allows you to transform your rig into a portable gaming console. And best of all, with the HDMI connectivity onboard, you’ll get to plugin your rig to your TV, and play the latest games through the setup. Surely, with Android 4.0 rolling out in the near future, I’m guessing that this update might make the Xperia Play somewhat obsolete soon, don’t you think so?
