Hitachi has recently unveiled one of their thinnest hard drives in the market, whereby this particular drive only measures 7mm in thickness. On the other hand, this particular drive takes the 2.5-inch form factor, and it spins at a whopping 7,200RPM as well. Also, Hitachi disclosed that their latest hard drive only consumes a mere 1.8 watts, during read and write operations, while 0.8 watt is consumed when it is in the idle stage.
Basically, the hard drive comes with serial ATA connectivity, and it is capable of transferring a whopping 1,334Mbps, which is assisted by a 16MB cache. Also, you can expect the drive to be super quite, as it only releases 23dB when idle, or 24dB during operations.
