The Fisker Karma recall is official. Naturally, Fisker announced that their Karma electric vehicle has a battery problem. Originally, Fisker thought that the battery problem was found in just 50 cars, but the official figure that was released by Fisker is now at 239 cars. Apparently, NHTSA release an official notice stating that the positioning of the hose clamps found on the car’s high-voltage Li-Ion batteries has a problem. It seems that the hoses were leaking coolant, which creates risks an electrical short circuit on the battery.
Basically, the problem is serious, as the short circuit might cause fire. Fisker also announced that they will resolve the problem by replacing the batteries. Of course, with such a huge price tag of $96,000 on the Karma, I believe that every proud Karma owner should definitely opt for the battery change. Here’s a glimpse of the Fisker Karma:
