If you drive an electric vehicle, you’d know that existing electric vehicle manufacturers have their own charging systems, which makes it impossible to recharge your EV batteries using another manufacturer’s charging station. Well, such scenarios would be a thing of the past in the near future, whereby mainstream electric vehicle manufacturers like Audi, Ford, BMW, General Motors, Daimler, Porsche, and also Volkswagen, have unanimously agreed to create a universal charging system

Basically, the car manufacturers will jointly develop a single-port, fast charging system, which will ultimately integrate all charging configurations. Users can opt for different charging styles too, such as quick charging setups, and Level 1 rigs. Also, the new system will utilize the HomePlug Green PHY as the mainstream communication protocol, and that will allow users to hook their RVs to the Powerline Smartgrid applications.
