Surely, sales figures suggested that AMD is playing a loosing game against their long-time rival – Intel. In fact, AMD was recording a financial loss this year, as clearly, the bad economy has contributed dire effects to leading semiconductor manufacturers worldwide.

Nevertheless, AMD is still adamant to compete with their arch-rival, whereby the company has just disclosed their microprocessor roadmap that runs through 2012. For instance, AMD is keen to develop GPUs based on the DirectX 11 platform. Also, the company will unveil high-end microprocessors for notebooks and mid-range towers, whereby these processors will come in quad-core variants, and would be manufactured based on the 32nm Trinity APU architecture. On the other hand, Krishna and Wichita platform would be focused in the low-end processor market, and would also offer lower power consumption as it will run on the 28nm architecture.
