Something I Notice on DotMySpot - Random Rant |

There are a few things I noticed ever since establishing this site last December. Although this might not be entirely true, but it’s pretty much accurate when it applies to sites similar to mine – a money making and web development site.
1. It is pretty hard selling things from affiliate networks as the market focus is kinda different. I’ve not sold anything off this site. However, things might improve if the articles written are directly focused on promoting an online product or the traffic magnificently increases overnight to a couple of million hits a day.
2. Referrals to certain programs are fantastic. But most of the participants merely want to ‘try-try’ and does not really put entire effort into it.
3. Adsense tends to generate a little lower income. For example, I got on the average $0.05 to $0.25 per click and on better days (rarely) I will get $0.30 to $1.00 from a single click. I notice my tech site tends to get a little more than average income from Adsense clicks. Like I say, this situation is based on this site’s performance and generally not about other people’s site.
4. On the other hand, getting a Page Rank would definitely help you get better jobs in paid-to-blog sites. This would also help you pay your web hosting fees.
Well hope that this would provide some insight for future money making sites and all the best in making the next million :)
PS - Reminder - these findings are based on my site and not comparing to other sites.
Cheers!
