Pros and Cons of Paid Blogging: Is It Good for Your Blog?

I believe that I have mentioned this sometime in June about ‘Protecting Your Integrity: Pros and Cons of Sponsored Posts’. When it comes to paid blogging – it’s simply lucrative. Usually you will just need the approval of these paid blogging sites to be accepted into their approved sites and they won’t check on you anymore. For example, I believe that PayPerPost has over 40,000 people who are registered in their database, I don’t think that they will check on each blogs just to make sure that they are compliant.

However, I do have mixed feelings when it comes to paid blogging. I believe that paid blogging IS for you if

1. You have a blog which has low to very low traffic but you want to monetize it no matter what
2. You don’t mind loosing a few visitors over the time or your blog has no loyal readers
3. You just want to make some quick money online!

But I don’t think that paid blogging should be overly used in your site –
unless you get paid by the hundreds or the thousands for one paid post. I think that paid blogging should be done in moderation and if you are thinking of building a superstar blog – forget about paid blogging or unless you have a subdomain which advertisers don’t mind their paid posts appearing on that particular spot.

As a conclusion

1. If you want to make quick money, go for paid blogging

OR ELSE

2. If you are building a superstar blog – focus on your readership rather than monetizing it with sponsored posts.
