Would you like to make $100 to $300 for a paid article? I’m not sure what the requirements are but I came across this website which boldly claimed that they pay $100 to $300 for news, reviews, case studies, how-to guides, feature articles, and fact-based commentary directly related to Linux, open source, or free software.

A quick glance at their main site shows that they are a news site or an online newspaper for Linux and open source software.

Basic requirements for articles:

1. Pay rate: $100 to $300 via check, bank transfer or PayPal
2. Articles must be 800 to 1,500 words

3. Articles must be 30 days exclusive to NewsForge

This news site looks legit. However, when sending your articles for payment considerations, you’ll need to send an email to the editor giving them a brief idea on what to write. Here are some topics which they are looking for:

1. Security
2. Enterprise applications
3. Migration to (or from) Linux and open source
4. The business side of Linux and open source
5. Career matters; training and job hunting

Looking at the minimum required words I think NewsForge might be much better compared to Associated Content. I’m going to email the editor to see what topic I can write on. Their pay rate is simply enticing. Heck, writing 10 articles and getting paid $100 each would make me rich!
