 If you have read my previous posts, I’ve actually stated that it is much preferable that you get your own domain name for your blog or website. It won’t cost a bomb to your wallet as it’s not even $10 bucks a year for registration!First of all, getting your own domain name helps in everyway. Your visitors can 1. Remember your website better 2. Look more ‘professional’ 3. Make money out of your domain name! –This is more yummy right? I’ve got replies stating that a normal blog on Blogger or Wordpress will do. Yes I totally agree with you. You can start your blogging service on any free blog providers and furthermore it comes with your own sub-domain name like iwantmoney.blogspot.com or getrich.wordpress.com. Nevertheless, the domain still belongs to Blogger and Wordpress – you don’t own it. But some of the domains that have been running for 6 months to a few years are fetching in between a couple of hundred to thousands of dollars. Exceptional ones are fetching tens of thousands! Of course there are certain tools which you can actually use to determine the approximate value of a domain name. (I forgot the names, so erm, very sorry!) I noticed hit exchanges sites are being sold from a couple of thousand to $18 thousand dollar. In my opinion, though they have HUGE hits, in the range of millions, it does not represent ‘actual’ hits. Hit exchange sites also have their own revenues through hit sales.
