Sharp has unleashed several new Quattron TVs at the recent IFA event. Basically, the Quattron 3D-enabled LE925 line will feature several screen sizes, which span from 46-inch to up to the largest 60-inch version. Also, the Quattron TVs will feature Sharps revolutionary high-speed FRED LCD signal processing technology, and it will also come with a side-mounted scanning LED backlighting. Everyone is trying to churn out their ‘Pad’ solutions, whereby apparently, there’s yet another ‘Pad’ released into the market, called the MasterPad. Apparently, the MasterPad is still in the prototype stage, but interesting enough, the MasterPad will utilize the Windows 7 operating system.
On the other hand, the MasterPad also comes with a nifty 11.6 inch IPS screen, which comes with 1,366 x 768 widescreen resolution. On the other hand, there’s even a 1.3 megapixel webcam onboard, mic, memory card reader, 2 USB ports, accelerometer, 3G connectivity, mini-HDMI port, 32GB or 64GB storage option. Well the MasterPad only weighs in a mere 990 grams, and runs on a 1.66GHz Atom N450 processor. Sadly, the battery capacity is somewhat limited, whereby the tablet is equipped with only a 2-cell battery, which gives it approximately 5 hours of usage time – I think this is pretty superior, don’t you think so?
The MasterPad can even play 1080p videos, and I’m thinking that the tablet is equipped with a hardware accelerator in order to achieve this. Well I find the MasterPad to be a very good alternative to the iPad, don’t you think so?

Language has always been the communications barrier when you are in a foreign country. Nevertheless, it seems that DARPA has been working hard to create a device that will allow real-time translation for the user. And according to the latest news, it seems that DARPA and National Institute of Standards and Technology (or NIST) are already testing their technological marvel, and it’s called the TRANSTAC project.
Basically, the translation system is used on Google’s Nexus One smartphone, and it can automatically and instantaneously translate Pashto to English, and vice versa. Do take note that these are real-time translation, something that you see the few Star Trek companions use when communicating with aliens.
