I noticed whenever I put a video beside an Adsense ad, I do get some unusually higher clicks on the ads itself – same goes to a picture. However, do read more on Adsense’s TOS before putting an image beside your Adsense – according to them if you put a picture to confuse your visitors clicking on it – you might get banned. Rules say that you can put a picture – but not a misleading one. Check out their website or TOS for further info on how ‘NOT’ to mislead your visitors. Anyway, you might want to give this method a try on your site – see whether you get higher click rates. I truly believe that this might improve your CTR because while your visitor is waiting for the movie to load, they’ll simply look at the ads conveniently located beside your ad and they might just simply click on it!
